Register for Friends and Family Tournament

Yes! I want to enter the Pop Top Checkers Friends and Family Event!

Did you know that the perfect game of checkers ends in a draw… no one wins! And that checkers is considered to be more strategic than even chess? Chess pieces can move in different directions, checkers in only one.

We have heard there are a number of folks around here that would love some “bragging rights” when it comes to their abilities in checkers, so to that end, the Pop Top Friends and Family event will take place on Thursday, June 25th, at the Waxhaw Woman’s Club at 200 E. South Main Street in Waxhaw. During the day there will be multiple sessions, the number of sessions and times are to be determined. There’s no admission charge for the event, we only ask for registration so we can make sure we have enough seats for those who want to play. Check back on this page for updates.

The morning sessions will be for anyone who just wants a friendly game of checkers.

The session in the middle of the day will be an exhibition by a Grand Master Checkers player, where he will play multiple opponents on separate boards at the same time! Come and watch as he demonstrates his amazing strategic skills.

The final session will be for those players who want to compete with other players for the title of “Waxhaw Checker Champ”!
